The CF cards are reasonably reliable, but not reliable enough to allow them to be a single point of failure for the array controller. As you noticed, without a root volume, you&#039;re pretty much screwed.Having said that making a copy of your root volume is pretty easy to do using volcopy, or snapmirror (assuming you&#039;ve got the license).
