I merely pointed out that your statement about MS signed drivers crashing your production machines was highly unlikely. Didn't say anything about the VMware HCL, because I agree that sufficient hardware is supported bij VMware, except maybe for iSCSI HBAs. I also agree that in most cases VMware is the best virtualisation sullotion on the market today.
So I think it's too bad that to make your point about the VMware HCL you lash out at MS without any justified reason.
As far as I can see you're doing the same thing as MS did in it's Mythbuster video.

Joep,<br

The point is, that the great majority of recent hardware and I even dare say 99% of mainstream serverhardware is supported by VMware. The fact that Windows supports even more legacy hardware and hardware commonly not used, does not make Microsoft the 'winner': you simply do not, ever, deploy virtualization solutions to legagy hardware and hardware commonly not used...

Niels,

So what if the MS model using 3rd party drivers supports more hardware and servers than the relatively closed model VMware has? When was the last time you saw a Windows Vista / 2008 machine crash on a signed driver? Because i haven't seen it happen since the new Windows Kernel and it's new driver model and I work quite a lot with Windows.Further more, yes even organisations that think about implementing Hyper-V should check op front if the hardware will support their needs, but the model that MS uses does allow a lot more hardware to be used then the VMware model.

Hey Joep, I don’t completely agree with your comments on het MS use of 3rd party drivers.
